Founded in 1978, the Jewish Community Day School of Rhode Island has been educating children on the East Side over the last four decades. Serving prekindergarten through 5th grade, the day school employs a progressive curriculum taught by a highly educated staff. Around 70% of the school’s faculty has a master’s degree or higher.
The school has 77 students in total with a student-to-teacher ratio of 4-to-1. Creativity and proactive learning are woven into the school’s curriculum and supported by the more than 25 field trips taken every year on the school’s private bus. The courses offered to students allow them to evolve as critical thinkers, hands-on learners and problem solvers.
Toddlers as young as three years old are welcomed to join the school's prekindergarten class. Kindergarten students should be five years old by October 1st to begin the year. Students of all ages participate in a dual curriculum, learning general studies alongside the Hebrew language. Respecting all levels of observance and Jewish practice, the Jewish Community Day School welcomes all students of Jewish backgrounds.

My 2 children and our family have loved being a part of JCDSRI. Our children are learning how to be leaders and thoughtful students. Academically, the teachers and specialists make sure our children's needs are met so they can thrive as learners. You will not find a more loving school community.
