GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The experience that I have had at Rattan Highschool has been memorable, but it is a small rural school they do have arts and humanities; that is still not enough the sports are limited; with it being a small school it makes it easier to learn with no more than 20 kids in a class we have more one on one with teachers and feel safer there.

Going to Rattan was a very good decision and I'm very thankful my parents put me in that school system. All the teachers and coaches treated every single kid as their own. I feel they did the best the possibly could with the things they were given to get us ready for college. If I live around that school district I can promise you my kids will be attending Rattan Public Schools.

The teachers at Rattan barely put in minimal effort to teach. Teachers would rather watch a student fall through the cracks then put in the time and effort it takes to help that student understand and better themselves. In my senior class alone I know of five kids that have dropped out. Mind you that the high school alone probable has 120 students. It is in fact quite a common occurrence for teachers to sit around and gossip with other teachers in the hallway during an entire class period. We are such a small community that no one even considers that they could be fired. And they won't be. You can tell the superintendent and the principal and it changes nothing.
