The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I transferred to RCHS my junior year and my guidance counselor assisted me a lot with my classes and applying to colleges. I participated in two sports while I was there and the athletic director and coaches both take their work seriously and always put the students first. I was very grateful for all them for making me feel more at ease after I transferred.

My school has many academic chances, through RCC and work internship programs. It does leave out sports that are not football and does not provide much funding for other sports.

Rockingham County High School is not the best school for anything. Whether it be academics, sports or even socially it is not the best choice. This school has not challenged me and there are only a very few amount of actually good teachers.
