If you go to Oakmont High school with the intention of getting the most out of your high school experience as possible, then it is a fantastic school. However, if you aren't enthusiastic about your education or putting any effort towards your experience, there isn't much to be gained.

Overall, I'd say Oakmont is a pretty good school. It's an older school, so the sports programs and actual layout of the school need work, but academically the school does well. The school culture seems to be pretty average for most high schools, with Oakmont kids having more or less pride in where they attend.

I truly enjoyed my time at Oakmont High School, but as with any public high school things can be made better. The school infrastructure is failing with lots of temporary classrooms being used indefinitely, faulty air conditioning, and wires that will smoke, resulting in the fire alarm going off. The faculty for the most part is willing to engage and assist students to meet their educational goals, so long as the student is willing to work with them.

I am a current Junior at this school. The programs are great here and there are definitely some amazing stand out teachers. But some classes are made extremely and inarticulately difficult by inadequate teaching and lack of support. I’ve been so disappointed by a few of the teachers here. Also the b...

the gate that they have makes me feel like a prisoner instead of a student ready to learn. the staff are respectful of a student's identity, but the students need to learn tolerance and acceptance. sometimes i dont feel safe at the school because i feel distrusted when the campus is locked up and fu...
