GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I've been apart of Salem all my life and i've always loved the schools, Currently i am enrolled in the high school and in the IB program at the school and they offer great scholarships and all the teachers are helpful. this school has a great amount of diversity in races, ethnicities and sexualities. i am really proud of this school. however i'm not at all impressed with the schools safety as someone had brought a gun to school several times. But they do offer a number of opportunities like ACT prep and paying for ACT test.

I loved the teachers I had. They really care about the students, as does the administration. The school had so many rules is crazy about uniform. The academics are wonderful and challenging.

Being at Salem High School for me was a complete and utter nightmare. I'm currently a college student now and I can honestly say that my high school did not prepare me for college. The only thing my high school taught me was independence, yet I feel like it was only because of the simple fact the staff there was lazy and didn't do much to push or help students. Academically we were fine and I realize this now that I'm in college and see how far ahead I am in terms of my peers. Overall I feel like my experience would have been better somewhere else.

School has many fights. Not a safe environment. A school should be a place to learn and have a peace of mind. This school is not it. I moved to send my children to another school

New IB Program is like a private academy within a public school. My daughter loves it here.

High academic standards to those who take advantage of this opportunity. This school is a IB school which means they compete against the world, not just the state of NJ
