GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My personal experience there was very pleasant as I always felt safe and like a part of the community there. Not only were the lectures and classes professional but so were the staff and students.

The high school is small and is able to offer personalized teaching and attention to every student. The high school is specifically for students who want to focus on academics and go to college and be successful and the high quality teachers recruited to teach there help their students tremendously in excelling.

I really appreciate how the school is small, since every student can get a chance to succeed. The teachers actually care about you unlike traditional high schools where the classes are bigger and teachers don't worry about you. This school is a new experience for me since it's a college readiness school. I enjoy having AVID as a class because it teaches me useful skills for when I go college. Even though I like how the school begins at 9 a.m, I don't like how we're getting out later, since I have less time to work on homework. The school food is extremely horrible, because it's passed down from San Diego High School. I think that the school should get food that isn't soggy, but instead have days where students could buy food that are being sold in classrooms.

I've gone to SDEMC for the past four years. I really love this school because of the teachers. They actually care about students learning. They tutor you after class and make the lessons interesting. In your senior and junior years, you can take college classes when you take high school classes so l...

SDEMC is a great school because it allows you to express yourself in any type of way without judgement. It also gives you a chance to connect to your teachers because its a small school. Classes and teachers push you, force you think critically, and teach more than the regular curriculum. I feel lik...

I am currently a junior at SDEMC. I like that the school is small, no real bad influence and bullying isn't really a thing. The workload is demanding because teachers actually teach and don't just give kids worksheets. The counselor is excellent.

I'm an SDEMC Alumni and all I can say is that attending SDEMC has been one of the best choices I've made. It's a small school with small class sizes that allow students to receive the attention they need in order to succeed. But what's even greater than that is the teachers and staff there. They go...
