I am honestly not sure what to compare it to. I don't care for the grading system or common core but it's the same everywhere at the moment so in accepting that I can't really say if the academics here are better or worse than other places except for the overall test scores. Scores indicate academics are good. My son is doing well but I don't like how common core math after 1st grade requires so much wasted time and energy on showing work instead of old school work (carrying). I like the emphasis on reading but I also miss cursive.

There are a lot of opportunities but they cost money, it isn't bad if you can afford it but there is a wait list for the before and after school program indicating a lot of people can't afford daycare and may not have extra money for extra curricular activities.

There is 0 tolerance for bullying. The teachers and principal are on top of it. So far so good.

I can't say enough great things about Jones. Wonderful, supportive teachers and staff, a principal who cares, parents who want to participate, great kids. Unfortunately, the administration at this school is incapable and inadequate in all areas - from a lack of communication, not taking bullying seriously, and being completely contradicted by the district.
