The principal is responsive and the teachers are caring. We love the extracurricular activities offered at school and wish they were part of the curriculum. The school is all enclosed and safe. They really care about military families and make them feel extra welcome.

In my opinion they need a bigger new building. This is the best school for miles and it should be treated as such. It does the job, but it is old and could use its land better. They could move the building back, add a gym and parking lot for parents. They need air conditioning and newer heating, currently parents donate free standing air conditioning units, and the old heaters are loud and old, over heat and have to be turned off and on again manually to regulate. They could use a better library and cleaner bathrooms as well as a larger cafeteria and auditorium along with speakers. I don't know if they offer counseling, technology is okay, guidance counselors are excellent, and there is no transportation (there is a bus for special needs students as far as I can tell, but that is all). PTA parents faculty and staff have everything to do with the success of this school. There is no funding for the art program, it is non existent without the volunteer services of the local otherwise retired art teacher. She is a blessing but deserves to be paid. Also, I don't know if there is a music program.

I know my child is in good hands here. He is excelling in math and English and I am happy with the student recognition program. I love the parent involvement of the PTA members and volunteers as well as the amazing faculty and staff who genuinely care about the safety and academic success of every child.

As part of the Serra Mesa community, but originally zoned to another school, we chose to choice our kids into Jones, and have had a wonderful experience! We love Jones. It is a small school with a positive environment focused on leadership, social-emotional learning, and family participation. Our children love it and we have made great new friends and staff relationships since joining Jones.
