Located in the rural community of Santa Paula, Olivelands Elementary is one of two schools in the Briggs Elementary School District. Olivelands offers a transitional kindergarten program to prepare students for academic success and serves students through the fourth grade. The school and its colorful playground are set amidst expansive agricultural fields and looming trees.
The motto at Olivelands is “Read. Lead. Succeed” as the school’s teacher and staff are committed to developing lifelong readers.
The school’s roots go back to 1914 when the Limoneira Company deeded one and a half acres for just $10 so a school could be built to serve the workers’ children. The now global company was founded in 1893 to grow and market local crops including lemons, oranges and avocados.
The first school began as a two-room schoolhouse with just 20 students. Around 290 students currently attend the school in its new building, which opened in 2003. The student-to-teacher ratio is 21-to-1.
The Briggs Elementary School District offers a popular optional after school program for students which includes academic enrichment as well as sports and recreation, visual and performing arts and technology in addition to outdoor and environmental education for students.

I love this sschool and teachers. Awesome staff and My children have learned so much. My kids love it here. It feels like home because staff is so welcoming. Love the help from parents for the school.

Love the family environment of the small school setting. Test scores continue to rise, and I know my children are safe and well cared for by the wonderful teachers and staff!
