After my years here there's a few things that should be spoken about. 1. Clear favoritism and lack of accountability. The admin has shown consistent favoritism of certain students specifically certain athletes (hockey, basketball, soccer) there were many cases of clear conduct violations bullying of other students, unsafe behavior. That was witnessed by staff little to no consequences were given specifically the lowered level admin. 2. Culture. Casual racism and homophobia was ever present between students and was often ignored by staff. The few lgbtqia students are very often bullied and harassed. 3. Faculty culture while many teachers are amazing supportive people but the few that aren't makes an impact with favoritism impacting both social and emotional support. I personally have heard on numerous occasions staff gossiping with one another but in some cases with students about other students. Overall I have enjoyed my time here however changes need to be made here.

This school makes all their students depressed. They are secretive and malicious in their efforts to control all forms of violence and racism. Very very few teachers care for their student. The faculty protects a select few and make them immune to all consequences. The food is horrible. Most students can't bare to eat it. The administration is corrupt.

I really enjoyed my experience at VA and owe a lot of my ability in my profession to the skills I picked up here. I graduated almost 10 years ago and have a good group of friends I see for a yearly trip, which is special. I owe my relationships and people skills to this place for helping me find self confidence.

I was pulled out by my parents because they didn't like the administration, curriculum, or the school's emphasis on sports more than safety of students. There are many reports of administrators mistreating students. Also this string of recent reviews are clearly self-promotions. Check their dates.

Vermont Academy is a great school for your child if you want them to be seen for who they are. They don't try to change your child, they try to make them the best version of themselves. Academics are rigorous but not cutthroat. They encourage students to be well-rounded. They encourage students to t...

Recent Alum. Vermont Academy set me up for success in college and life. VA is more than a school for learning but shapes kids to be their best selves. VA provides the opportunity for students to do whatever they want educationally, socially and personally. Students there can be varsity athletes whil...

Vermont Academy is a fantastic school where students are able to pursue just about any passion they might have while being able to balance their academics. Students are also encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and try things they've never done before. The community is tight-knit and because...
