I have been in the Selah Schools district my whole life. The past 4 years at Selah High School have been very long. I have had a lot of trouble attending Running Start due to my councilors who like to compare students to one another. Over these 4 years there have been countless amounts of bomb threats, school shooting threats, drug deals, staff members who have assaulted students, and much more. Although I am grateful that I have been able to have an education, I never thought I would need to endure all of this.

The best experience I have ever had is that they are not as strict as the middle school. like for example, today my mom was able to drop off a redbull and they didn't throw it out. at the middle school they threw it out (I understand that they don't want 12-14 year olds high on caffeine but we still paid for it and couldve held on to it untill after school)

Selah prides itself in its small community pride. However, it lacks diversity and has had problems on racism in the past. It offers no AP classes, so it is very difficult for very hardworking students to challenge themselves unless they do running start. But the teachers are absolutely amazing and all are probably one of the best teachers around.

This was my school as well as it will be my children’s. Selah has an extraordinary school curriculum that supports everybody no matter what they identify as if that’s your thing (lgbtq, disabilities). There is no bullying and if there is it does not go unchecked. All you have to do is talk to someon...

The district is significantly behind in providing equitable access to minority and lgbtq+ students. Bullying and harassment are a significant problem, however school leadership is more concerned about keeping loud extremist parents/guardians happy rather than ensuring all students have safe access t...
