My experience at shaker is good but it has it flaws like any other school. All my teachers care and want to help me I never met a teacher at shaker that didn't. I believe that shaker could be more cautious of the people walking into the building. And the food there could be a little better we have a lot of options it's just not that tasty.

It was very good. I would like to see Shaker's security be upgraded, I feel like they let everyone in and don't ask enough questions.

Incredible for college prep, especially the AP track. (IB is quite frankly ridiculously hard, but that's not Shaker's fault.) AP US History is practically a cult here; it is not worth the stress. Arts programs are very good. Lots of drama in regards to the administration and detracking/deleveling.

I would not recommend this school as long as you can avoid it, your kid will probably like it but there’s a low chance of that being. As a freshman the students and staff sometimes make it feel like you can’t do certain things or you don’t fit in seniors will also have a hard time parking unless you...

Both of my children got very good educations from Shaker Heights High School. One graduated with her IB diploma and the other had many college credits due to AP coursework. Are all the teachers great? Of course not, no school has all great teachers. But they care. And the school system as a whole ca...

My junior has been challenged and is excelling in her 4 AP classes so far. She loves the German coursework and the fantastic coaching on the cross country team! The facilities are great and staff are incredibly well educated! My freshman has found her niche in honors classes and the superb band prog...

The repuation that Shaker Heights has "excellent" schools is clearly a myth. The high school and middle school are prime examples of the failure of this school system. The small minority of good kids who want to succeed have to navigate daily fights and violence, crude and disrespecful behavior. Stan...
