A great school to go to. Very small, which has its ups and downs. The school is extremely safe, and you receive extra attention from teachers because rod the small class sizes. The community is great, very tight and everyone knows and cares about everyone else.

Because of size of the Shelter Island school, it's often feels as a family. Everyone know each other and stay close. Teaching stuff are friendly, helpful, and carrying. My son came to this school when he was 6 from the Ukraine . He didn't even speak English. Everyone , teachers and students, embraced him and made him comfortable. He learned , grew, and got inspired during the school years. Music , science, drama are some of his passions thanks to wonderful teachers from the Shelter Island school.

Music, school play, different clubs, language learning overseas are some extracurriculars . My son stays busy all the time ; basketball, music, science club, homework club...
