Just up the street from its sister school, South Pointe High School, South Pointe Junior High School is a tuition-free public charter school managed by the Leona Group and accredited by Cognia to align with standards set by the Arizona Department of Education.
As an alternative to traditional schools in the South Mountain area, South Pointe serves students in sixth through eighth grades who might have academic challenges, behavioral issues, or other life situations that require a more nurturing approach for their education. The faculty here are committed to helping students build their characters with core values of service, teamwork, leadership, integrity, and accountability.
While the core curriculum includes English, math, science, and social studies, South Pointe also offers an English Language Learning program for non-native speakers. In addition, special education services are available for students who might need more personalized instruction and learning methods.
Outside of the classroom, students also have opportunities to either establish discipline and leadership skills as monitors, flag attendants, or recycle ambassadors, or to pursue interests in a number of activities including dance club, robotics club, student council, and yearbook
As for other notable programs, South Pointe offers free bus transportation within a designated service area and a free breakfast and lunch program.

SPJHS is teaching academic excellence to students who are willing to learn. My child is learning more respect for authority. Thank you South Pointe Jr. For making a difference in our community.

This school was horrible. One of the teacher's kept screaming in class and could be heard from other classrooms. My daughter was bullied, a neighbor's daughter was cut by students with razorblades, and staff did not punish the girls that did it. BEWARE! Not good for white students.

Horrible my son got bullied constantly and nothing was done about it. I called the police and since my son wasn't sent to the hospital in critical condition there wasn't much they could do about it. And all South point did was protect the bully! I asked and begged to meet with the stupid dumb bully...
