Springfield High School is an alternative public high school located on Alderman Street next to Liberty Preparatory Academy in the Forest Park neighborhood. The school serves approximately 200 students in ninth through 12th grade with small class sizes and a student-teacher ratio of 13-to-1.
Students attending Springfield High School participate in a school culture that encourages all students to reach their fullest potential in a safe, supportive and consistent learning environment. In recent school years, all public high schools in the Springfield Public Schools district offer a financial literacy elective along with typical instruction in courses such as math, fine arts, English, science and history.
Students in 11th and 12th grade, along with former students within one year of graduation, can take advantage of the school’s Student Employment Program, which ensures that Springfield High School students go out into the world with transferable skills and a bright future ahead of them.
