I like the community atmosphere. It feels less like a school and more like a group of friends learning.

My son is just starting his fourth year at GWCS. The biggest strength of the school is the ability to respond to the needs of the many different learners in ways where they feel "seen" and valued. My child is able to take advanced classes and have opportunities for enrichment during their after school programs that are uniquely tailored to his interests. Many of his friends struggle with one academic area or another and they take advantage of the hands-on learning (yes ,even during COVID) and the opportunities for focused remediation during daily office hours. The community focus looks at the whole child in a way that is unique during the high school years. My family would recommend this school to other families looking for a fit for their quirky teen with so much to offer who struggles with the traditional classroom.

There's definitely room for improvement, but overall there's a lot of communication between parents, teachers, and students, so that helps maintain policies.

While public school works for my oldest, it wasn't a fit for my youngest. We toured this school and my son heard these magic words from one of the current students: "Everyone here is kind." That one phrase changed our lives. From back-to-school night at a bowling alley getting to know future classma...
