Administration does not listen to educators or parents. The academic rigor is lacking. Social learning has fallen off track. Very sad state of affairs. You are fired if you question what Administration deems as status quo. Children's education and well being put on back burner.

We arrived at SASA in 2020 so that our kindergartener could have an in-classroom experience and we are so thankful that we did. The class sizes are small (my kids have 12 kids in each class) and the teachers USE this boon to create individualized lessons. The school caught my daughter's mild learning difference during her extra help in reading (which is included in tuition). I guarantee this would not have been noticed elsewhere bc I have a friend who is struggling with the same issues now at another private school. The arts program is phenomenal- incredibly robust despite the sasa's size. Morning meetings have provided my children with real public speaking experience from a very young age. My kids love going to school. Would love to see more after school club/sports opportunities for lower school.

The school was a model in the community for academics, diversity and leadership and has diminished greatly over the past few years. Weak, inattentive leadership-influx of students resulted in improving and expanding administrative offices rather than teaching or classrooms. Seems like they have lost their grip on philosophy. Basic, traditional, safe, conservative.

I've grown concerned about the direction of the middle school. Enrollment seems to be dropping. There have been ongoing behavior problems and bullying that do not seem to be addressed. Amazing school. My kid has been here since kindergarten. Right in the middle, the 5/6 grade math teacher is very toxic. It’s a pretty hard school but the friends are amazing and there are no cliques because it’s so small, everyone is friends!

I have to take issue with the Jan 2024 review by a parent calling out a "toxic" math teacher.
