GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I love everything about this school. Roland-Story is a very welcoming school that helps develop young adults and prepares them for life after high school.

Like any person, people go through depression. Life is hard, and so is school. Stress of getting homework done, working, stress of at-home life, trying to get all As, pleasing parents or teacher and then students can pile on top of each other. i had a rough sophomore year because I actually broke my back and wasn't at school for almost half of the second semester and that took a lot of my credits. Now I'm stuck with having to fill all 8 class periods with an actual class to get all my full credits, and that's pretty stressful. I will say, however, this is a great school, a lot better than a lot of schools, and we have good teachers. I also want to point out that I felt very cornered when I saw that we only have Spanish, I had a different plan, I have self taught with classes and books, German and Russian. I'm sure many many people would have loved to take German. I felt like it was less of an opportunity because I love languages.

Roland-Story is a quality school that has aroun 90 kids in each grade which I perfered for my learning. They provide each student with a laptop to do there homework on. Also they have this thing called J-term that is a week long after Christmas break and the student do a project of there interest, like learning more about a career field there interest in or building something in the shop. It's a great use of the students time and I liked it a lot because I was able to do what I liked to do for that week.

Most teachers are skilled and work hard to provide a good learning experience. Some are clearly biding their time, but this is true for most public schools. I am most deeply disappointed in the administration of the system. Suffering from an intense level of nepotism, there is no sense of quality co...
