The Scales Technology Academy (S.T.A.) is an elementary school in Tempe School District 3 that serves close to 500 students from pre-K through grade five. The school is committed to giving students STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) skills starting at an early age. Its motto reflects its focus on technology: Power on Together. Power up for Learning. Power forward to Excellence.
Reflecting its commitment to technology education, the school gives every kindergartener an iPad. Once students reach first grade, they get Chromebooks to use at school.
But technology is not the sole focus of S.T.A. Its students have had an opportunity to dance with Ballet Arizona. Youngers kids have learned how to ride a bike as part of physical education class, as part of the All Kids Bike program.
The $13 million campus was constructed in 2005 and was a groundbreaking model nationwide for introducing technology to students at an early age. The campus is wireless and features the latest in learning systems for both teachers and students.

Scales is a good school with dedicated Teachers and staff. The Liason for the school is an amazing woman and I encourage all parents to stay involved with their children's education and go to the Parent Meetings and volunteer once or twice a year.
