The Harker School is a great school, as its curriculum is 2-3 years ahead of the standard curriculum in public schools. It offers a wide variety of courses which helps when pursuing a certain path - something many children at this school have already decided.

Horrible. Simply horrible. My little sister comes home crying every few days from how VILE AND DISGUSTING the teachers are at Harker. Especially given the tuition, I didn't expect this level of bias in such a "reputable" school. Parent involvement is minimal. Everybody has such an alarming amount of ego, it's insane. Just buy your way in college at this point, why even try? Harker has a clear goal in mind, but it's administration fails to deliver.

i was a student at harker from 4th-8th grade, and after judicious research i decided to leave and attend my local public high school. harker has great academics, opportunities, and a small, tight-knit community. but alas, the toxicity is not for the faint of heart. i felt so pressured to do well bc of what my peers were achieving that i dreaded going to school and had panic attacks. feeling that stressed in middle school about one's grades is DEF abnormal, yet it seemed so typical at harker. i'm not denying the fact that the competition can be beneficial, bc i was so self-motivated at harker compared to my peers at public school. however, there is SM toxicity and the lengths people will go to "succeed" at harker genuinely terrify me. but imo, the line drawn defining the dichotomy between healthy and unhealthy competition at harker boils down to this: tldr: if you're sensitive, not acing all honors, n not stem oriented; mayb consider sparing ur mental health and going to a dif hs

I am a Lifer (K-12) alumnus. I would never put my child through what I went through at Harker, and every peer I have stayed in touch with feels the same. Harker's current head, Brian Yager, is one of the worst leaders I have ever witnessed, of any institution -- a remarkable lesson in what NOT to do...

It would be an understatement that Harker is a great school. In all my experience only Harker has the learning resources and teachers to truly advance your child in academics. I attended Harker for 13 years K-12, which is easily the best school in the bay. Harker is known for unrivaled programs and...

For lunch a school that markets themselves as a STEM school they have failed to use technology to communicate with students, parents, and staff. The school has 3 tracks for kids for math and language arts but they are not based on academic performance but the child’s executive functioning. The schoo...
