GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It was a good highschool. When I went there, there was a lot of school threats though. Nothing serious ever happened. I like it overall though. Everyone know everyone it's a good small big school.

The memories will of course last a life time, but the overall learning environment does not satisfy the needs of all students nor do they prioritize certain subjects. Highschool is supposed to be a learning environment where young adults slowly start thinking of what they want to do with their life and how to prepare for it. I believe I speak on behalf when I say the level of preparedness the administration set us up for is mediocre.

I enjoyed Escalante because I had my friends there and I played sports. I would like to see the political issues come to an end. The higher ups at Escalante care too much about the opinions of their friends rather than what is best for the school and its students.

The entire Chama Valley School system is a joke, it's nothing but a bunch of good ole' boys club trying to get the best school wide grades for funding. As a parent being called in for my child's grades, actually I had asked prior for this visit, he was busy, another time it was the same thing. When...

What is going on with the school? Administrators and teachers fighting and police called in??? Get an administrator who knows how to deal with staff, students and ensure academic proficiency--then it will get back to the days of it being a good school.

Unbelievably horrible. I don't know where to begin. There's no support from the staff in a good quality of education, save two teachers. The standards of this school are going down dramatically, where they should be increasing like others schools in the state. The worst part is that the office canno...

Very poor school. My child graduated about three years ago, and the counselor could not even calculate her GPA correctly. They didn't even care enough to notify all of the students of the scholarships they had available. Everything is politics. I would not recommend anyone to send their children to...
