West High is not a very inclusive school unless you actively make efforts to be involved in school activities such as student government and other clubs. Some clubs are also not as inviting; they consist of people from the same friend group and treat newcomers as strangers.

West High is really a place of ups and downs. Staff doesn't always take the greatest care of items, and athletic directors mainly focus on one sport and trash talk every other sport. Academics is the main point of knowledge within the school, as staff focus more on the education of those around.

Teachers are hit-or-miss. They could either teach well or don't teach well. Honors/AP teachers are definitely motivated and will welcome to help you. Definitely feels safe and there's racial diversity. Clubs could be better, but they're relatively good.

There are only a handful of good teachers at this school. They do a good job preparing the student for college. The teachers are very caring and responsive.Even though my child came from a smaller middle school, he had no problem transitioning to this much bigger public school. I sent my 4 kids to West high. Although I would not say this is the best school, it knows how to take care of students and very reasonable, friendly atmosphere. No complaints.
