GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Truman Secondary has improved in many areas in the past few years but is still lacking in many areas. One of these vital areas is academics. Truman School doesn't even have a real math teacher, and cannot offer many courses that one needs for success later on. However, Truman does excel in the elective courses that they offer. There are a variety of unique electives to choose from, from stained glass to intro to guitar, Truman has the best elective courses in the area by far.

I hated this school. I would never return. There's too many cliques and nobody includes you in anything if you haven't been in their class since elementary school.

This school has been wonderful for our children. Many past issues or shortcomings have been resolved and current staff and administration in both the elementary and high school do a remarkable job. They have instilled in all 3 of my kids the drive to learn and succeed. Great small town, family atmos...

I certainly don't claim Truman is the best school on the planet, but I think they do a really good job for our students. If you take a look at alumni, you'll see doctors, lawyers, teachers, farmers, etc. It's a great community to be a part of and I have no problem sending my children here to receive...

There is now and never has been, anything great about this school, For years they have employed new college grads and those who hang on only for the state retirement. The tax base is lousy, the local parents apparently don't care, and the state is satisfied just to have the school stay open.
