Tucked within the tree-lined streets of the Sam Hughes neighborhood, Sam Hughes Elementary is a public school serving more than 300 children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade as part of the Tucson Unified School District.
Here, the faculty are committed to “develop responsible, involved citizens who are motivated to think critically, to learn continuously, and are free to face the challenges of the future.”
And to foster creativity and well-rounded individuals, Sam Hughes Elementary School encourages students through weekly classes via Opening Minds Through the Arts, where they can develop speaking skills and confidence in the performing arts, from theater and dance to band and orchestra.
Within the core curriculum, students can excel through semester-long earning expeditions in order to provide deeper subject comprehension.
