Wilcox Primary School is the only campus in Twinsburg serving students in prekindergarten, kindergarten and first grade. Wilcox Primary School is named after twins Aaron and Moses Wilcox. These early local settlers persuaded locals to change the name of the settlement, then called Millsville, to Twinsburg in exchange for the land where the school was built.
With roughly 700 students, it works as an integrated preschool designed for pre-K students with disabilities, providing special education services and tuition-free, all-day kindergarten.
Students who attend Wilcox have access to a wide range of services and programs to bolster their academic performance, including Title I reading intervention, speech and language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, free transportation and Chromebooks for all students.
Wilcox is a highly rated public elementary school which earned an A grade according to the state’s most recent report card. It won the 2018 Hall of Fame School title and earned the Purple Star School designation from the Ohio Department of Education, awarded to schools that “show a major commitment to students and [households] connected to our nation’s military.”
