GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I came to Underwood in the middle of 2nd grade and growing up in a school like Underwood was an adjustment. Underwood is such a small school so theirs alot of cliques and I was used to getting along with everyone at my old school. However, even though it wasn't as easy to make friends, I still did. I mad lots of good memories at Underwood and I have learned alot. Underwood has high standards in the academic catergory which better prepares us for college and even for life.

I like the small school feel with the big school type education. The classes are challenging. I think that the tough classes really prepare the students for the real world and college.

My experience with Underwood High School was overall a very good one. My class was one of the most intelligent classes in Underwood history, with roughly 1/6th of the students achieving a 30 or higher on the ACT. The building itself is old, but it is holding up well. The teachers are very good; they are undeniably the best part of the school. The school could become more diverse, the majority of students are Caucasian.
