I have worked with the Vail School District for the past eleven years. Ten of these years have been at ORE. I did work at another school for a year but, decided to come back because I missed the culture at ORE, the teachers, and the families. I come to work each day knowing that I will be supported not only by my principal and co-workers but, parents as well.

I’ve noticed the school community can sometimes feel cliquish—among parents, faculty, and students. A significant presence of military families adds to this dynamic, as they tend to stay within familiar circles, which impacts the overall balance of inclusion.

The school is very cliquish and it’s consistent of mainly of military families who don’t care to socialize with non-military families/children.
