GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

So far with my experience it hasn't been too awful however if you are looking for a diverse school for you're kid this wouldn't be the place. Our cross country team is one of the best in the state so far we have gone to state every year, that is the Zizzer cross country tradition. Track has also gone to state every year and is also believed to be one of the best for class 4 in Missouri. I don't eat the food here but I heard it isn't the greatest so you might want to pack a lunch or door dash. I don't know anything else as far as sports however our academics are pretty well off the teachers can be understanding and helpful if you are respectful and have a good tone of voice with them.

Some teachers and staff were less than admirable, though every other teacher and member of the faculty cared about their students and their students' futures.

West Plains is a school with mostly caring staff. However, those who are not so caring seem to be those with the most authority. The school also feeds into dramatics a lot it seems. Facilities could absolutely be improved as well as college resources.

Excellent educational and enrichment high school program with concerned and caring staff. School has been in top 20% of MO for several years and in 2017 in top 25% in the nation! Go Zizzers!

I graduated from this school May 1959 with test scores equal to a two-year in college education. I don't understand these low ratings from others. I have had three grandchildren graduate from there and will have four more to graduate in the future. We all have received a quality education. I was abl...
