The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at River City was generally good. Our school did a great job of providing students with resources that would lead the to success and would set them up to graduate. The worse parts would be the behavior from some of the other students. What I would like to see change would be the food that is given to students as it is not very good.

School is easy for me. For new stuff it may take me a little bit to learn but that's what teaching is for. I also like a challenge. School being easy for me sometimes means it's also boring. It's definitely better than most schools I'll give it that. I am also not sure about the teachers' mindset. Some are really good, if people listened. Others not so much. Even some good teachers I find a little strange. I know someone who took a class last semester that I'm now taking. Apparently some of the lessons he has me do my friend never did. I can say more but I won't go to hard on the teachers. It feels like every class I have, not a lot of people really listen. But again, that's their problem, not mine. I'll do what it takes to get by.

I'm currently in my junior year and I must say it's the best high school in the West Sacramento because the teachers are great and also the environment and one thing I really like about this school is that there are so many diversity and people all around of worl.

Would not send my kids here. Lack of respect from kids.

Parent: Both my children went to this school for a brief semester and I had them transferred to another school due to the back education, inept faculty and large number of disrespectful students. Aesthetically, the High School buildings and amenities are beautiful. But just like people, a person can...

This is a terrible school. I would never recommend going or sending your kids to this school.
