I'm a student at WMS that is now leaving it behind, graduated 8th grade during the pandemic and I'm moving to a different town because Westbrook does not fulfill my needs for better education. The kids here are either extremely passive aggressive or generally just awful to be around. We've had several violent incidents between students, several race and sexuality hatecrimes and most importantly the neglectful staff. i've had about 2 very wonderful teachers from grades 5-8 who genuinely cared about me and my experience along with getting the lesson through, besides that the teachers can be very racist and old-school, the students had an inside joke about the food being from the horse farm nearby because it was so terrible, if you care about your childs wellbeing, mental and physical health, and their education. do. not. send. them. here. please and thank you, <3

Overall I felt that I was taught the way that is appropriate. But most of the other students just didn’t care and never tried to exceed.

There are some great teachers at WMS. Sara Brokofsky is Cumberland County teacher of the year for '14. They are working on standards based grading like everywhere and transition is hard.
