Windsong Ranch Elementary School is located close to ranch land yet surrounded by gorgeous newer homes in Prosper, Texas. Sitting on the northern fringe of Dallas at 800 Copper Canyon Dr., the school serves 933 students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. According to state test scores, Windsong students rank well above average in one of the highest-ranked districts in Texas.
Modern facilities and amenities grace the sprawling school, built for future growth. Well-manicured sports fields lead to a contemporary playground with newly planted trees dotting the landscape. A lovely pavilion with picnic tables rests next to the large playground. An additional area for play is found next to the school where the younger students can play on a turfed playground with smaller equipment, totally shaded by large green awnings over the area.
The stated vision is “grounded by tradition, souring to new beginnings.” Along with the mission of Prosper Independent School District's emphasis on high expectations in academics, the character of students, and quality instruction in a safe environment, this school meets and exceeds these standards. One hundred percent of students participate in music, art, and physical education. Bringing home the University Interscholastic League awards every year, students compete in academic categories including Creative Writing, Number Sense, Spelling, Maps, Charts & Graphs, and Storytelling among other subjects. With the Eagle mascot as a guide, these young students soar to new beginnings daily and take their lessons forward to become lifelong learners.

We love Windsong elementary. The staff all around have been amazing. Our daughter has a medical condition and they have gone above and beyond to assist her with her needs. The new principle and vice principle are very involved and easy to communicate with. We have had excellent teachers who seem to truly care about our children. All around great school.

My kindergartner is thriving in this school , staff is like family and you feel the harmony and cohesiveness all around . My child is always excited to go to school and her teacher is amazing , we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Windsong Strong !
