Gonzaga University
Logan, 2 miles from Downtown Spokane, is home to Gonzaga University. Logan is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Spokane and grew with the University. Sylvester and Ida Heath, with the Gonzaga College Jesuits, developed the area between 1884 and 1890. “With a lot of Spokane, there are streets in any neighborhood where you can find old historical houses,” says Spokane resident Kristin Beck. The layout of the neighborhood is based on popular trends in Europe, featuring wide sidewalks with greenery between the sidewalk and the roadway. Gonzaga University and the neighborhood work together to provide a positive living experience for Gonzaga students and full-time Logan residents.
