Holding the site of the area’s first oil discovery in the early 1900s, Red Fork piloted Tulsa’s emergence as the “oil capital of the world.” Today, people come here for the proximity to downtown Tulsa and affordability compared to surrounding neighborhoods. Residents stay for the direct access to parks and the friendly vibe this older part of the city provides. “It’s like a family here,” says Mariah Gilling, the daughter of the owner of Ollie's Station, who also works there as a server. “We got a lot of support from local regulars who helped us stay in business after COVID.”

Wide variety of home styles for lower prices than the surrounding area
Red Fork offers an eclectic array of homes, including charming bungalows with long driveways, contemporaries with gabled roofs and newly remodeled Craftsman styles with a fenced-in backyard. Homes are arranged along traditional suburban gridded streets with a few cul-de-sacs scattered around. Depending on the square footage, homes here typically sell for between $150,000 to $350,000.

Specialized programs from Tulsa School District
Students here are served by the Tulsa School District, with each school earning a C-minus grade from Niche. Kids may start at Clinton West Elementary before transitioning to Daniel Webster Middle. Students may then attend Daniel Webster High, which offers the city’s only agricultural education and digital media broadcasting programs.
Cllinton West Elementary is a part of the Tulsa Public School system.

Outdoor fun at Reed Park or on Bales Park Trails
Residents can head to Reed Park Community Center to access an outdoor pool, paved walking trails, sports courts and a playground. Though Red Fork is not one of Tulsa’s more walkable neighborhoods, it does connect to Bales Park Trails, a 65-mile system with unpaved paths for beginners and experts alike that’s adjacent to grassy baseball diamonds. Golfers can head to Oaks Country Club or Page Belcher Golf Course, both of which are just south of the neighborhood.

Popular local businesses like Ollie’s and Arnold’s
Warehouse Market in the neighborhood’s western end has produce, snacks and in-house butchers. Bigger grocery options such as Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and Walmart are just a few miles east, across the Arkansas River. Get a taste of the area’s roots at Ollie’s Station, where patrons can watch model trains run on tracks all around the restaurant as they sample the breakfast buffet or chow down on a hearty steak dinner. “We have some people who come in for breakfast and lunch daily,” says Gilling. “It's always nice to see their familiar faces.” Residents can also visit Arnold’s Old Fashioned Burgers, which has been serving classic American eats in Red Fork for nearly 40 years.

Commuting by car locally and around the state
Downtown Tulsa is only about 15 minutes northeast of Red Fork, and Interstates 44 and 244 run through the neighborhood, offering direct access to Oklahoma City.
Red Fork also represents a large industrial employment base in Tulsa.
Important to Know
Due to the neighborhood’s proximity to an oil refinery just to the north, residents may smell its fumes. A railway also runs alongside the neighborhood’s boundaries, potentially causing additional ambient noise as the trains pass.
