Eagle Lake offers a slightly tucked-away feel with easy access to the rest of Charlotte. Just south of Charlotte Douglas International Airport, it’s not your typical neighborhood. The hotel-dotted landscape here is largely industrial and office space, with dense swaths of trees hugging residential pockets. You can choose from older homes on roomy lots and gated lakefront properties to townhouses in mixed-use developments. There are a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment options within a short drive, and highway access adds appeal for commuters.

Whether you want to feel removed from the city or be close to the action, Eagle Lake offers both. Space and midcentury charm are the main draws for its original subdivisions, which feature ranch-style homes and split-levels resting on spacious lots of over a third of an acre. Notably, the gated and private Eagle Lake Fishing Club offers waterfront properties. Sidewalks line newer subdivisions, where early 2000s New Traditionals and 2010s Craftsman-inspired transitionals sit closer together on small lots of around a tenth of an acre. There are also two- and three-story townhouses, built between the early 2000s and today, with open floor plans and attached garages or small patios. Some communities, like City Park, offer walkability to parks and shopping centers.
