Woodsy community with new construction close to downtown Eugene
Laurel Hill is a Eugene community close to natural parks, local highways and the dining, retail and entertainment of both Eugene and Springfield. Residents are just 2 miles from the University of Oregon, so it's great for staff and faculty who want to be close to the school yet far enough that they don't have to live in student-populated areas. "Laurel Hill is zoned for highly rated schools in the 4J School District, and the community has gorgeous views. There's new construction here, but it is a little noisy with the freeway so close," says Realtor Alice Holmes with Windermere Real Estate, a fifth-generation Oregonian.
Craftsman-style homes, new and old
Homes with Craftsman-style features are the main feature here in Laurel Hill. There are traditional Craftsman bungalows from the 1950s and contemporary Craftsman homes built in the 2010s. Buyers will also find established split-level and midcentury homes. The growing neighborhood also has some opportunities to buy new construction. Homes are densely built but have private yards lined with Douglas firs and colorful maples. Prices in the area range between $400,000 and $1.4 million. New construction is typically on the higher end of the pricing scale.

Moon Mountain City Park is an undeveloped nature reserve with acres of wildflower prairies and woodland. Families enjoy Laurel Hill Park, which has a colorful play area, a walking loop and a large, leafy field. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy proximity to Laurelwood Golf Course, a championship 18-hole course and a driving range with a restaurant. For indoor recreation, residents can head to the Eugene Family YMCA, located 3 miles away on 24th Street.
