An active Ames suburb
People often move to Edwards because it's an active community with a welcoming atmosphere. "In the summertime, kids and families tend to be outside," says Realtor Gina McAndrews, who sells homes in the neighborhood with Century 21 Signature Real Estate. "People are pretty friendly here, so when they're out and about, they talk to their neighbors." A day in Edwards might start with a morning bike ride along its greenbelt trail, followed by coffee and pastries at The Dot Cafe, and it could end with a musical at Ames Community Theater. But there are also plenty of attractions just outside the neighborhood. College football fans root for the Iowa State Cyclones at Jack Trice Stadium, and Ames' Main Street holds year-round outdoor markets.
