Windsor Spring is a car-dependent neighborhood. Route 1 runs through the neighborhood and connects with Interstate 520, giving residents easy access to Augusta and other surrounding areas. Downtown Augusta is about 10 miles north, with major employers just a short drive away. You can reach Uptown, the city’s medical district, within 8 miles, while Fort Eisenhower, the area’s largest employer, sits just west. “The biggest draw to that area is that it’s so close to Fort Eisenhower,” says Ramona Murray, a Realtor with VanderMorgan Realty who has nearly a decade of experience in the Augusta market. “It’s 2 to 5 miles away, so if you work there, it’s a good place to be.” Augusta Regional Airport is about 7 miles east of Windsor Spring, Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Savannah is roughly 120 miles southeast and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta is about 150 miles west.

Tobacco Road, the neighborhood’s main commercial corridor, runs through the southern part of Windsor Spring. Here you can find everyday essentials like Walmart Neighborhood Market, Dollar Tree, pharmacies, gas stations and banks.
