Spanish Revival homes in country club communities
Homes throughout Silver Creek Valley can be found in a wide variety of styles, and many offer views of scenic golf courses or the California sunset. There are quite a few condos on the neighborhood's eastern end, and two-bedroom units can range from $1.2 to $1.5 million. Single-family homes are placed throughout the neighborhood, commonly in earthy tones with clay tile roofs in a Spanish Revival style ranging from $1.6 to $4 million. Many of these homes are also in gated communities, allowing for access to amenities like golf clubs, pools, and tennis courts.Fowler and Canyon Creek Park
Silver Creek Valley is home to beautiful neighborhood parks, but many residents head to nearby Fowler Creek Park for recreation and fun. The Park offers almost 10 acres of green space with a popular playset and multiple courts for tennis and bocce ball. Fowler Creek Park is also partnered with the parks and rec department to host events throughout the year, such as the summer movie nights on the lawn. For a smaller spot for weekend fun, Canyon Creek Park offers a playset and greenspace within walking distance of many Silver Creek homes.Evergreen School District
Silver Creek Valley is home to top-rated public schools, including the National Blue Ribbon recipient Silver Oak Elementary, which receives an A-minus rating on Niche and offers multiple enrichment activities, such as the Silver Oak Talent Show and math competitions. Students can then move on to Chaboya Middle School, which receives an A-minus rating, and finish their education at the A-rated Evergreen Valley High School. Students looking to continue their education can head to Evergreen Valley College The college has a “very active student body in terms of volunteering and reaching out to the community,” says Elizabeth Barragan, a librarian with the San Jose Evergreen Branch Library for over 2 and a half years. “They often run classes and clubs at the local library, from story time to coding classes and homework clubs.”Silver Creek Valley Country Club
Silver Creek Valley provides many renowned attractions, but its centerpiece is the Silver Creek Valley Country Club, or SCVCC, considered one of the best in the area for its top-rated golfing, tennis courts, fitness centers and Olympic-size pools. An in-demand wedding venue, the SCVCC provides incredible landscaping, vistas and amenities. Silver Creek residents can drive a short distance to attend a host of cultural events and festivals, such as the San Jose Fountain Blues & Brews, Silicon Valley Jazz Festival, and the SubZERO festival that showcases Silicon Valley’s underground arts scene.Travel along the Bayshore Freeway and beyond
Commuting in Silver Creek Valley can look very different depending on the route. Heavy traffic along major highways like the Bayshore Freeway is expected during rush hour. In contrast, many main and local streets within the neighborhood easily accommodate commutes with little to no traffic. These low-traffic streets also allow for plenty of residents to choose to walk, where “on any given day there are plenty of people walking around,” Barragan says. For trips outside of California, the San José Mineta International Airport is 12 miles away to the northwest in the heart of downtown. The Good Samaritan Hospital is 14 miles west and specializes in cardiology and cancer care for medical needs. The Canyon Creek Plaza Shopping Center
The Canyon Creek Plaza Shopping Center, located in the center of the neighborhood, offers everything locals could need for dining and shopping. “Silver Creek is a very diverse area for food options and with more mom-and-pop locations than other areas,” says Barragan. Two such eateries on the strip are The Creek Eatery, which offers a large copper wood-burning pizza oven in an urban vibe, and Mexico Lindo at Silver Creek, which has been serving authentic Mexican dishes to the Silver Creek community for over 14 years. The nearby Silver Creek Community Market is the grocery store of choice for locals and specializes in healthy and organic foods. For big-box stores, Target is located 3 miles to the northwest.
