A Fort Wayne suburb with a small-town feel
After its roads were paved in the 1900s, Bluffton earned the nickname The Parlor City after the tidiest room where guests were entertained. A century later, the Fort Wayne suburb still holds the title of Indiana's most beautiful and well-kept city. “There are so many good reasons to move to Bluffton,” says Isaac Stoller, a real estate agent with Steffen Group, “but people mostly love it here because it’s a small town.” A Bluffton resident, Stoller says you shouldn’t be surprised when you run into people you know at the grocery store or when strangers wave to you as you drive. “Bluffton is a great place to put roots down,” he says. “Everybody is looking out for everybody.”

Outdoor fun on the banks of the Wabash River
Bluffton gets its name from the riverside bluffs along the Wabash River and flaunts over 100 acres of verdant farmland. The river and more than 10 local parks provide the public with a wealth of natural spaces. “We have one of the best parks departments in the entire country,” Stoller says. “They’ve won many state and national awards for their involvement and do so many activities for the community. Yoga, bike riding, runs, kids’ events and the list goes on.” To enjoy some beautiful views, hop on the Rivergreenway trail that feeds into the Ouabache State Park, a huge attraction for Bluffton residents that sits just east of the neighborhood. Stoller says the city is revitalizing and expanding its green spaces and trail systems, aiming to extend the Rivergreenway to 6 miles of bikeable and walkable trails that connect to downtown.

Main Street has local shops and restaurants
The center of Bluffton is a neat grid of streets anchored by Main Street with many mom-and-pop restaurants and shops that emanate the neighborhood’s small-town feel. “From ice cream and sweet shops to antique stores, there are a lot of cool things going on in our community,” Stoller says. Along West Market Street, local favorites are obvious. Hugh’s Bakery and Coffeehouse bustles in the morning, while Parlor City Brewing Company is a Happy Hour hub. And if you want the buzz of a bigger city, Fort Wayne is just a click up the road. It takes less than 35 minutes to the heart of downtown.
