What home styles, ages and prices you'll find in Central Rim
While it doesn’t have the early 20th-century homes of the North End or East End, Central Rim is still on the older side for Boise. “You’re going to find a lot of midcentury modern. It’s going to be probably a lot of homes from the ‘40s to the early ‘80s,” says Paul Heim, team lead at the New View Real Estate Team with Silvercreek Realty, who has over 20 years of experience. These midcentury homes are often ranch-style, with some cottages, Craftsman homes and unique designs as well. While mid-1900s properties are common, there are also some homes from the 2000s in the area. The greenery of the nearby parks extends into the neighborhood, with tall, leafy trees lining most of the streets. Homes on Houston Road are the most sought-after, featuring views of the city and mountains to the east. Most houses in Central Rim cost between the mid-$300,000s and upper $900,000s.
Some Craftsman and Prairie-style houses feature views in Central Rim's eastern section.

Nature parks and trails offer plenty to do
Neighborhood parks give you a sense of wilderness just steps from your door. “Kathryn Albertson is more of a nature park, so it’s not set up for picnics and all that,” Heim says. “You walk through it, and everything is natural.” The 41-acre space features walking trails and is home to wildlife, including waterfowl, turtles, raccoons and beavers. Nearby, Ann Morrison Park is a more developed spot for a wide range of activities. Cricket, bocce, soccer and horseshoes are just some of the games you can play at this 153-acre park. It’s also a popular spot to end float trips on the river, with a ramp on the banks. Both parks are connected to the Boise River Greenbelt, a nearly 30-mile path for biking, walking or jogging along the water.

Living in Central Rim also puts you within walking distance of popular restaurants on the Bench, like Wyld Chyld, The STIL and Luciano’s. Also within walking distance is Fred Meyer, about a mile south on Franklin Street.
