Near the corner of Franklin Road and Latah Street, you'll discover Jefferson Elementary School - a kindergarten through sixth grade academic institution that's served Boise's Depot Bench neighborhood since 1949.
Over the years, Jefferson Elementary has met the growing demand for providing quality special needs education by founding the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program in 1977 and the Special Education Excel program in 2012.
School teachers and faculty emphasize inclusivity and compassion in educating the student population and achieving academic excellence while developing fundamental life skills.
Students love interacting under the multicultural curriculum in the classroom and the school's signature buddy benches on campus, where kids can sit and meet new friends.
Over the years, the school has improved its facilities, including a new roof, an improved cafeteria and expanded outdoor play and eating areas.
Students enjoy the after-school Kid City program the city runs on campus, the music and choral program, the annual STEM bus visits and the academic assemblies the school hosts.
Parent involvement is encouraged with ample opportunities to volunteer with tutoring and fundraising through the parent-teacher organization.

The kids here are taught no morals. The teachers disregard anything when our children or us express concerns. The children here steal and hit/spit on other students with no repercussions. Terrible school, probably the worse we’ve been too.
