Bothell West was once an area of dairy pastures and farms. Today, this western extension of Bothell north of Seattle is a suburban city of about 22,000. “People really like the community feel, that it’s very well laid out and has lots of options for young families like play areas for kids. There’s also proximity to freeways, groceries and all amenities on a daily basis,” says Ranjani Ravi, a managing broker with eXp Realty with eight years of experience. “It’s a great melting pot for all cultures. People from all over find it to be a great location.” Proximity to major interstates puts Seattle’s and Bellevue’s technology employers within a 20-mile drive.
Commuting access to Bellevue and Seattle
Bothell Everett Highway runs north and south along the city’s eastern edge, intersecting Interstate 405. Bellevue, where Microsoft is headquartered, is about 16 miles southeast via I-405. Nearby, Interstate 5 connects Bothell West to downtown Seattle and the Amazon headquarters in about 18 miles. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)—locally known as “SeaTac”—is 32 miles south along I-5 and has various international and domestic flights. Although the city has no light rail station, it offers public transportation via the Community Transit bus.
New construction and traditional architecture in Queensborough-Brentwood
Subdivisions branch off central thoroughfares in neighborhoods such as Queensborough-Brentwood. Single-family homes and townhouses both feature new traditional and contemporary architecture. “I work with lots of buyers, and they buy in Bothell for community affordability and bang for your buck,” Ravi says. “Closer to Redmond, the price point is about $600 to $700 per square foot, but this city has a nice single-family home with a decent backyard for around $500, which is more affordable. People find it’s better to get new construction with modern amenities than the older homes in Redmond, where they have to put in extra money to fix it up.” Still, Bothell West’s median single-family home price of $1 million is more than double the national median.
Learning in Northshore schools and CTE opportunities
Northshore School District has 36 schools and serves Bothell West. The district earns an A-plus from Niche and maintains the No. 2 ranking of best school district in Washington. All Northshore high school students can select from over 80 Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses.
Forested trails, park birthday parties and Lake Washington
Bothell West has many themed playgrounds with footpaths and baseball diamonds. Hiking trails wind by mature oak trees and shrubs, such as those at Shelton View Forest. “Summers are hot, and the parks are a nice way to gather with friends,” Ravi says. “We see many birthday parties in the park, especially during the summertime.” Kenmore Range is in the community's center and offers various archery and firing ranges. Lake Washington is less than five miles away and has multiple fishing piers, trails and boat launches.
Supermarket chains along Bothell Everett Highway and Alderwood mall
Bothell Everett Highway has shopping centers, including Canyon Park Place and Thrasher’s Corner, which have supermarket chains and various restaurants. Food options include Indian fusion and pub fare. The Alderwood shopping mall has national retailers, additional restaurants and an AMC Theatre.
Busiest patrol area, yet declining crime figures
Bothell West is served by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office’s South Precinct, which, despite having the smallest patrol area, has the highest number of calls for service. According to data from the sheriff’s office, violent and property crime figures are declining county-wide.
