Available multi-family properties
Since most of Crossroads is comprised of offices and commercial businesses, residential properties are limited. North of Pearl Parkway, Boulder Junction is a neighborhood subdivision undergoing redevelopment that has a handful of townhouses off Bluff Street. These contemporary multi-level properties range from 700 to 1,300 square feet and can cost $550,000 to $1.3 million. There are also condos available within the Steelyards community. These are primarily one-bedroom-one-bathroom units priced around $450,000 to $550,000. Additional modern condo options can be found along Arapahoe Avenue. Peloton Condominiums has two-bed-two-bath units for $750,000 to $1 million. The community comes with amenities such as a heated rooftop pool, fitness center, yoga studio, movie theater and more. “The Peloton has always been popular because of its location and amenities. You won’t find what they offer anywhere else in Boulder,” says Real Estate Associate Carliss Erickson with Sotheby’s International Realty, who has over 40 years of experience. North of Valmont Road, there are manufactured home communities like Orchard Grove that offer affordable housing options for around $75,000.Sports and outdoor recreation
Crossroads has several neighborhood parks throughout the area that provide a break from the busy business atmosphere. Scott Carpenter Park is one of the more popular greenspaces near the University of Colorado Boulder campus (CU). There’s a skate park for practicing tricks, a jungle gym for little ones, an outdoor swimming pool with water slides and a lap pool that is the only 50-meter option in Boulder. Next to the YMCA on Mapleton Avenue, the East Mapleton Ball Fields is a sports park that hosts leagues and tournaments on its three softball fields. The Ted Allen Horseshoe Courts nearby have nine pits for the sport. Across the street, hikers and bikers can hop on the multi-use pathway along the Goose Creek Greenway to get their workout in. The path circles Goose Creek Pond and continues east to connect with the Two Mile Creek Greenway. For an indoor workout, The Spot Bouldering Gym is one of the first rock climbing facilities in the region, offering training sessions for bouldering, rope climbing, rappelling and more.A-rated public schools in Boulder
Children living in Crossroads can start their education at Creekside Elementary School at Martin Park. Earning an A grade by Niche, Creekside has an English Language Development program and after-school childcare provided by the neighborhood YMCA. From there, students can attend Casey Middle School, a Pre-Advanced Placement school with an A-minus grade. Boulder High School maintains an A grade and has one of the district’s largest Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) programs.Biking and driving through Crossroads
Getting around the neighborhood is easy with Crossroads’ central location and multiple available modes of transportation. Bike lanes follow several major roads, including 30th Street, Pearl Street and Walnut Street, contributing to the area’s Bike Score of 98 out of 100. Boulder BCycle has a handful of docking stations in the neighborhood for e-bike rental. “There are bike paths that you can take all the way to CU, or to the shops and restaurants nearby,” Erickson says. There are also sidewalks surrounding and within every shopping center, connecting them and helping pedestrians travel between them. Those who prefer public transportation can find bus stops along Arapahoe Avenue, 30th Street, Valmont Road and 28th Street. These roadways make it easy to drive through Crossroads too, but traffic can get congested at stoplights.Streets lined with box stores and restaurants
As Boulder’s primary area for everyday shopping and dining, Crossroads has multiple commercial plazas and business centers for browsing, buying and eating. The Twenty Ninth Street Mall is an open-air space with national brands like Lululemon, Nike and West Elm lining both sides. Cinemark Century Boulder is a movie theater in the mall showing recently released films. Across the street, The Village shopping area has several local restaurant options. The Buff is a brunch restaurant with a coffee bar, and Gurkhas Dumplings & Curry House specializes in Indian dishes. Aloy Thai cuisine is a local favorite featured on the Food Network TV show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. For novelty shopping, Crossroads Commons has a Barnes and Noble store and Full Cycle Bikes, which sells racing, road and trail bicycles. In addition to the strip malls with storefronts, big-box stores like Target, Walgreens and Home Depot are standalone and accessible off the main roads. When it comes to grocery shopping, people can choose between King Soopers, Safeway, Sprouts Farmers Market and Whole Foods Market – all situated within Crossroads. There are also multiple breweries within the neighborhood for a fun night out with friends, including Sanitas Brewing Company with its taproom and outdoor patio, and Twisted Pine Brewing Co. with trivia and open mic nights.
