Plenty of parks and history around Bull Run East
Buyers search around Bull Run East to find spacious homes close to country clubs and vast acres of county parklands, while history buffs can explore Manassas National Battlefield just west of home. Interstate 66 and U.S. Route 29 cut through Bull Run East for convenient access through the greater D.C., Maryland and Virginia region for work or leisure. "There's a lot of culture around Prince William County to the west," says Mary Ann Bendinelli, a Realtor with Weichert with over 38 years of experience serving Northern Virginia. "People absolutely head to the festivals around Manassas and even go as far as D.C. for work or for fun."
Popular Bull Run Regional Park and Manassas Battlefield
Manassas National Battlefield is a National Park that stretches over 5,000 acres and encompasses the historic sites of the First and Second Battles of Manassas, some of the earliest skirmishes of the Civil War. Parkgoers can take guided tours of the grounds to see how these clashes unfolded. Poplar Ford Park has a large grass field, where locals come to fly drones and model aircraft, since the Fairfax County Park Authority approved safe use of unmanned aircraft on their lands back in 2018. At Bull Run Regional Park, guests can explore hiking trails, picnic, pitch a tent at the campgrounds or swim at Atlantis Waterpark. The private Chantilly National Golf & Country Club is north of home and features an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts, a swimming pool and a clubhouse for dining and private events.
Colonial Revivals on spacious lots
"Home pricing around here has stayed reasonable considering the competitive market around Northern Virginia," says Bendinelli. Homes are priced from $850,000 to $2 million, varying by square footage and lot size. The community is filled with Colonial Revivals with attached garages and spacious, tree-dotted lots, often spanning an acre or more. The community's suburban development has retained the area's natural surroundings, so dense trees usually surround single-family homes.
Manassas Mall for shopping and local restaurants south of I-66
The Winery at Bull Run is within the community and offers tastings of local vinos with live music on the weekends. Just south of I-66 are local dining options like Il Faro Family Restaurant, which serves Turkish pizzas, kabob platters and pasta entrees. Bendinelli says that locals usually shop at Manassas Mall, which has a Walmart and Macy's, and Fair Oaks Mall, which has over 160 retailers and restaurants.
Manassas hosts many annual events nearby
Historical reenactments are often staged around the battlefield on the anniversary of the First and Second Battles of Manassas. During the holidays at Bull Run Regional Park, guests can enjoy the Festival of Lights, a drive-through holiday light show that ends with a small market with snacks, hot chocolate and carnival rides. Locals can also explore Old Town Manassas' packed schedule of live concerts at Harris Pavilion, and spring and summer events like the Historic Manassas Railway Festival and the International Food Festival.
Highly-rated Fairfax County schools
Fairfax County Public Schools is the main district serving Bull Run East. Students can attend Bull Run Elementary and Liberty Middle School, which both get A-minus ratings from Niche, while Centreville High gets an A-rating. The high school also offers Advanced Placement Courses and Adult and Community Education classes for driver's education, world languages and business.
D.C. commutes take under an hour
Major nearby job markets include IT roles in Loudoun County's Data Center Alley and government roles in Washington. Commuters can take I-66 to reach D.C. after 29 miles, or around 45 minutes, depending on notorious rush hour traffic. Dulles International Airport offers domestic and international flights and is a 14-mile drive north of Bull Run East. Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is a 10-mile drive away, which takes around 20 minutes.
