Diverse pocket neighborhoods
Brainerd, a little over ten minutes from Chattanooga, is a small enclave with various pocket neighborhoods. “People who have been here a long time always refer to their pocket neighborhoods in Brainerd, so it gives it that connected feel,” says Natalie Henson, lead agent of Chattanooga Roots Property Team at Keller Williams Realty. Houses in the area are primarily stand-alone, affixed to generous lots. Decorated porches and lawns are a common sight in the area. “It’s really charming, there’s old trees, old houses, it’s all well-kept. It’s a diverse neighborhood with all age groups, and I’d say it’s first-home friendly,” says Henson. Brainerd Road, meandering through the heart of town, is the primary shopping and dining location.

Vintage furniture can be purchased at Anthology, which has monthly sales. Brainerd Road leads to Eastgate Town Center, which features popular retailers such as Walmart and Office Depot, local businesses and small retailers.
