Midcentury homes and new builds shape the local housing market

The houses in Hickory Valley span several decades. “They’re more established homes, homes that have been there from the 60s all the way to today,” says Johnny Smith, team leader of the Johnny Smith Homes Team at Keller Williams, with a decade of experience. “There is still some new construction, but there are homes of all ages.” Ranch-style houses make up much of the inventory, but you’ll also find some bungalows, split-levels and New Traditional designs. Most prices fall between the upper $100,000s and the lower $500,000s. Townhouses are also available, typically costing between the lower $200,000s and the upper $200,000s.

Shepherd Park is a small green space with a playground, a walking path and a disc golf course. It also has an outdoor fitness park with exercise equipment and free classes available.
