The neighborhood’s west side, along the banks of the flowing Chicago River, brings residents toward a bustling commercial area full of shops and amenities, including Marshall’s, Menards and Bath & Body Works. Access to Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan

Residents flock to Wrightwood Park to use its playground and outdoor pool before having a relaxing picnic. The park is also home to numerous sports facilities, including a sand volleyball court, a soccer field, basketball courts and a baseball diamond. Lincoln Park is Chicago's largest public park and only 2 miles away from the neighborhood. Six miles from the Loop

West DePaul has dedicated bike lanes on North Southport Avenue and West Fullerton Avenue, but most roads are considered bike-friendly. There's also numerous bus stops throughout the neighborhood. Interstate 90, also known as the Kennedy Expressway, is about 1 mile away. Traffic should be expected along the highway as it connects to Chicago O'Hare International Airport about 13 miles west. The Loop — named after the elevated train tracks that circle the area — is the heart the city and roughly 6 miles from the neighborhood. The closest Chicago Transit Authority subway station is on Fullerton Avenue.
