Greenbriar Farm, located 13 miles from Columbus, offers a bit more than expected compared to surrounding suburbs. The neighborhood is close to major interstates and thoroughfares, convenient for commuters and appreciated when it is time to run errands. It also has an active civic association that puts on seasonal events and supports the community in a variety of ways, as well as the Columbus Country Club, a hub of social activity. What sets Greenbriar Farm apart from others is space, according to Jay Stanley, Realtor and Partner with RE/MAX Consultant Group, who’s sold in the area. “Part of the appeal is that most homes have half-acre lots, which is unusual in a Columbus neighborhood,” he says. With Big Walnut Creek running north to south through the center of the neighborhood, homes set a little farther from the street and shaded by mature trees and amenities just a short drive away, residents in Greenbriar Farm have country comforts without sacrificing the practicality of suburban living.
Renters and owners accommodated here
Greenbriar Farm is evenly split between renters and homeowners, with about 500 single-family homes clustered along windy roads buffered by large trees. Realtor Mark Abbott of Abbott Realty, based in Greenbrier Farm, says, “The most common style is two-story Colonial, yet we still have ranch homes and split levels.” Prices range between $200,000 to $600,000. Aside from single-family housing, there are a few apartments, condominiums and assisted living communities. Condominiums sell for between $225,000 and $300,000.

Back-to-nature feeling and a big golf course
Greenbrier Farm is a naturally forested area and feels almost rural, especially with Big Walnut Creek running down its center. Abbott shares that residents don’t have to worry about flooding from the creek because it’s very deep in the ravine. Columbus Country Club runs along the northwest edge of the neighborhood. The private club features an 18-hole championship course and a Par 3, accommodating experienced golfers and those new to the game. Amenities include a pool, tennis courts and an outdoor café. Big Walnut Park is under 3 miles south for a bit more connection to nature. It is a popular spot for fishing, trail biking and playing with pups, as there is a fenced dog park.

Something to do every night at The Point
Dining and retail are located mostly to the south or a short drive away from the neighborhood. The Point on Main, just off Noe Bixby Road, is a hive of activity in the evening. While the restaurant is a popular place to watch the game, play darts, or shoot pool, it also offers weekly events, including karaoke on Mondays, game nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Poblano’s Mexican Restaurant, right next door, has a bit of a different vibe with its brightly decorated interior and dining patio. More options can be found along U.S. State Route 40 and East Broad Street. Kroger is under 3 miles west, and Giant Eagle Supermarket is 2 miles east. Abbott shares that Gahanna, 6 miles north on I-270, is also popular for dining and that “for regional shopping, Easton is convenient because it’s right off the exit of Interstate 270” less than 10 miles north.

Noe Bixby Road, an urban scenic highway
Noe Bixby Road is the main north-to-south road through the neighborhood, and the surrounding trees make it feel more like a country road than a thoroughfare in a Columbus suburb. Stanley grew up in the neighborhood and says, "When I first started driving, because of all the winding turns, that became my go-to when I would get a new car. I would always drive it there to see how it handled.” I-270 is also a major corridor out of town, connecting commuters to I-70 and downtown. Bus stops are available along U.S. State Route 40 and East Broad Street, and it’s a quick 7-1/2-mile drive to John Glenn Columbus International Airport, which is north of the neighborhood. In an emergency, Mount Carmel East is just on the other side of I-270.
Food Truck Thursdays in the summer
Community pride is prominent in Greenbriar Farm. The Greenbrier Civic Association organizes events throughout the year and sponsors neighborhood improvement projects. During summer, the organization puts on yard sales, picnics, block parties and plant exchanges. Each fall, the association prepares a trick-or-treat route for kiddos in costume, and neighbors set up festive tents and bonfires. One of the most popular events is seasonal food truck visits at Bethany Lutheran Church’s parking lot. Food Truck Thursdays begin in May and end in November, recurring weekly from 5 to 8 p.m. The organization also plants flowers throughout the neighborhood and has repaired fencing as part of a four-year improvement plan. BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, a Hindu temple in the northern part of the neighborhood, has a full calendar of events as well.
