An active community in north Columbus
Just west of the Olentangy River, Indian Hills is a secluded and highly sought-after neighborhood in northern Columbus. Initially, buyers are attracted to the area for its privacy, highly rated schools and eclectic collection of homes. However, a reputation for friendly neighbors and safety ultimately brings new residents to the community. "There's a great community here," says Theresa Mesaros, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker. "It's a very active neighborhood—great for families in particular." Access to several convenient routes to downtown and beyond is also a draw for anyone who needs regular access to Columbus.

Well-maintained midcentury and traditional housing
Indian Hills is known for its upscale homes, landscaped yards and shaded cul-de-sacs. "There's a great selection of architectural styles," says Mesaros. "It's got everything from midcentury to colonial." Midcentury split-levels and ranch-style homes make up most of the area's residences. However, traditional-style homes have been sprouting up regularly since the 2000s. These newer houses have open floor plans and high square footage, but it isn't uncommon to see older homes with 1,700 square feet or more. Homes built between the 1950s and '70s start in the high $300,000s and peak in the low $500,000s based on amenities and location. Houses built since 2000 range between the mid-$500,000s and high $600,000s. Homeowners tend to be lifetime occupants, making property in the area more exclusive when it finally goes on sale. "A lot of the residents have been there for 30 or 40 years," says Mesaros. "But in recent years, we're seeing more young families moving in."
