Indian Hills
Suburban Neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio
Franklin County 43085, 43235
Well-maintained midcentury and traditional housing
Indian Hills is known for its upscale homes, landscaped yards and shaded cul-de-sacs. "There's a great selection of architectural styles," says Mesaros. "It's got everything from midcentury to colonial." Midcentury split-levels and ranch-style homes make up most of the area's residences. However, traditional-style homes have been sprouting up regularly since the 2000s. These newer houses have open floor plans and high square footage, but it isn't uncommon to see older homes with 1,700 square feet or more. Homes built between the 1950s and '70s start in the high $300,000s and peak in the low $500,000s based on amenities and location. Houses built since 2000 range between the mid-$500,000s and high $600,000s. Homeowners tend to be lifetime occupants, making property in the area more exclusive when it finally goes on sale. "A lot of the residents have been there for 30 or 40 years," says Mesaros. "But in recent years, we're seeing more young families moving in."Fishing at Antrim Park
The 13-acre Linworth Community Park has athletic facilities like a soccer field, a baseball diamond and tennis courts. With over six fenced-off acres for dogs to play in, Godown Park is ideal for walks or a sudden case of the zoomies. Antrim Park is a 122-acre green space with a fully stocked lake popular with anglers.Students attend Worthington and Columbus school districts
Two school districts split the area, with Worthington Schools occupying the neighborhood's northern end and Columbus City Schools serving the south. In the Worthington district, students begin at Evening Street Elementary before heading to Kilbourne Middle, both of which have an A-rating on Niche. Older students attend the A-minus-rated Thomas Worthington High School, which is undergoing a $128 million renovation. Expected to be completed in 2026, these changes will improve classrooms and create extensive commons areas. Students in the Columbus City district begin at Gables Elementary, which has a C rating, before heading to Ridgeview Middle School, which has a C-minus. Finally, older students enroll at B-rated Centennial High School.Active community leaders
The Indian Hills Residents Association is very active in the community, and hosts regular holiday events, including Easter egg hunts, Halloween trunk or treats and gala fundraising events. The nearby town of Worthington is home to the annual Worthington Arts Festival—a local opportunity to appreciate the work of artists from all over the country.Easy access to downtown Columbus
Located near the Olentangy Freeway, Indian Hills is less than three miles from Old Worthington's historic Village Green and commercial district, seven miles from Ohio State University and Ohio Stadium, and 13 miles from downtown Columbus. John Glenn Columbus International Airport is 20 miles southeast, while the OhioHealth Riverside Hospital is less than five miles south.Order omelets at George Linworth Diner
Known for its greasy spoon atmosphere, George Linworth Diner is in the northwestern corner of the neighborhood. Casual fare fills the menu with options like Reubens, omelets and meatloaf. Next door is the Borgata Pizza Café, which has served New York-style pizza to Columbus since it opened in 2010. Nearby Route 23 is a hub for local dining and shopping, with locally owned storefronts and familiar franchises like Kroger and Aldi available.Important to know
