GreatSchools says that Worthington Kilbourne High School has won the College Success Award four times in a row based on its success in preparing students for college. Almost all of Worthington Green's houses were developed in the 1980s and the neighborhood’s streets are lined with oak-shaded sidewalks. Worthington Green has a consistent suburban atmosphere, even though it's made up of apartments, condos, townhouses and single-family homes. “The homes are reasonably priced and attract a lot of first-time homebuyers,” says Realtor Lee Ritchie, who sells homes in the neighborhood with RE/MAX Partners. Vinyl-exterior bungalows are valued from $300,000 to $360,000. Assessors value multi-family contemporaries from $400,000 to $600,000. Contemporary-style single-family homes are valued as low as $320,000, and split levels are valued as high as $415,000. On the neighborhood’s south end, Park Village Drive is lined with vinyl condos valued from $130,000 to $145,000. There is a cluster of apartments on the neighborhood’s northwest corner. Trains run along Worthington Green’s eastern border, creating some noise issues for residents.Gators Bike Park and Woodbridge Green Park
The neighborhood offers walkable access to public outdoor spaces. Behind Granby Elementary School, Gators Bike Park was created by a community volunteer effort to enhance the health and wellness of kids and get them exercising on bikes. The focus is teaching kids mountain biking skills. There are designated trails within the bike park and even competitive racing events throughout the year. For slightly more subdued recreational activity, Woodbridge Green Park is on the neighborhood’s northern border and has a playground and a paved walking trail. Multiple shopping and dining options are clustered along the neighborhood’s northwestern border. W.G. Grinders is a classic sandwich shop with a black and white checkered floor and stainless-steel tables. Chubby’s Sports Bar & Grill holds Monday night trivia on its open-air patio. On Valentine’s Day, couples sip wine and take a painting class at the bar. During Ohio State football season, Chubby's shows all the big games on its flatscreen televisions. Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant is based in a neighboring strip mall and delivers takeout. The shopping center’s Arabian Market sells Middle Eastern groceries.The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Ohio Stadium
A variety of entertainment options are near Worthington Green. Less than 6 miles northwest of the neighborhood, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has over 7,000 animals, including wolverines, African lions and Asian elephants. The downtown’s Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens have over 400 plant species from climates across the globe. On Friday nights, locals pack into Worthington Kilbourne Stadium to root for their home football team, the Gray Wolves. Tens of thousands of football fans travel 11 miles south on game days to root for The Ohio State Buckeyes.Getting around Columbus
Interstate 270, Columbus’ Outerbelt, circles the city and connects Worthington Green residents to the rest of the suburbs. Route 315 takes commuters less than 15 miles south to downtown Columbus. Worthington Green has public bus stops along Smoky Row Road. Columbus Fire Station 27 is on the neighborhood’s southwest corner.
