Leafy urban neighborhood off a major Bay Area corridor
Pines, live oaks and palms shade the streets of Monument Corridor, a residential neighborhood in the center of Concord. Just off Interstate 680, the location is convenient for commuters who work in Oakland and other regional employment hubs. An abundance of restaurants and stores ring the neighborhood, and nearby parks and plazas draw people out to multicultural events. “You’re close to public transportation and major freeways, so this is a really easy access place,” says Tina Kaur-Campbell, a Realtor with Keller Williams who has sold homes in the area for a decade. “Of course, that means you’re in an urban area, and that means you have lots of places to get food, lots of good restaurants really close by.”

Community comes together on historic plaza
Todos Santos Plaza, the historic town square a mile and a half north of Monument Corridor, provides space for frequent community gatherings. “It’s not unlikely to see your neighbors and coworkers and even the mayor out in town,” says Johana Segura, owner of 24/7 Nightingale Home Care and resident of Concord. “You’ll see a ton of families around the park at the plaza, and you’ll probably recognize them, too.” The Concord Farmers Market is held on Tuesdays. In October, Taste of Concord brings foodies of all ages to the plaza to sample from local restaurants. “Every September, there’s a Latino festival in Monument Corridor that has great food and entertainment. There are dancers, bands and local makers,” Segura says. “We are a tight community, and there’s a ton of networking opportunities between business owners. It’s just a lot of fun to all get together like that.”
